Anita Drossis graduated in 1989 from University of Toronto with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.  She worked as a structural engineer for a few years before going back to university to pursue her dream to be a teacher. She became a Physics, Science and Mathematics teacher with YRDSB in 1998 and was awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence Certificate of Achievement in 2008.  Anita has been involved with ABEL since its inception in 2002 providing professional learning and leadership support, which continues through to this day.  In 2012, she was seconded to manage Learning Connections, a Ministry funded program to support teachers using technology to enhance literacy and numeracy instructional practices.  Anita is passionate about supporting educators to take risks and try something new.
