Connecting The Classroom

ABEL's proven methodology connects classrooms to authentic learning opporutnities for students.  Videoconferencing technology is utilized to bring experts into the classroom and enhance curriculum.  From guest expert visitors from universities and colleges to virtual field trips and author visits, ABEL provides authentic learning opportunities that cross barriers of geography and enrich the learning experience.                                                                                               

Connecting for Professional Learning

ABEL applies a blended approach to professional learning design and the opportunity to use collaborative technology means that the online learning can be as interactive as face-to-face sessions.  ABEL has evidence to show that when teachers are engaged in professional learning that models effective use of information communications technologies (ICTs), then they apply those instructional stategies in their own classroom.

Connecting the Community

ABEL connects the community to classrooms and to its professional learning program.  Using videoconferencing, video streaming and collaborative technologies the ABEL program makes school based activities accessible to parents, families and community members.  Video-recordings can be watched live from a remote location or can be accessed from the ABEL library and viewed at a time and place of convenience.
