Project:

OCSB will continue to build capacity across our system by supporting 100 educators (90 elementary teachers and 10 intermediate teachers) in their ability to leverage digital resources and tools to design, support and to monitor student thinking and learning across all content areas. They will continue to invite teacher representation from each family of school and within each panel (Primary, Junior, French, English and Resource). The OCSB vision and implementation model will foster differentiated support and professional learning opportunities to our educators and Instructional leaders by offering a variety of platforms such as: Google+ Communities, Face-to-Face Networking Sessions, Core Teachers hosting job embedded professional learning opportunities in their classroom to fellow LC teachers, Learning Fairs and more.  Using the Collaborative Inquiry Cycle, teachers will be asked to share their Professional Learning journey with others using the following: Plan (Assess and Design), Act (Implement), Observe (Monitor and Measure) and Reflect (Reflect and Change). Technology will foster collaboration within and across schools while engaged in cross-curricular rich learning opportunities and student collaborative inquiry.

Success Criteria:

  • Expand active involvement and participation in all 7 Family of Schools in OCSB by educator and admin
  • Regular postings and sharing in the Google + Learning Connections Community of Professional Learning Cycles with evidence of student work and thinking in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, The Arts and Social Studies
  • Expand active and regular participation in Google+ Hangouts and Twitter PLC chat nights
  • Positive feedback from face-to-face sessions and from job embedded sessions held by host teachers
